If you are doing a lot of splicing with wirenuts, use a nut driver! The 5/16 works very well for the tan Ideal wirenuts. Try other sizes for other types of wirenuts. This is cheaper than going out and buying one of the specialty tools for this purpose, and it's one less tool in your pouch! Besides, the ground screws are normally 5/16 anyway, so you should already have one on you! Your fingers will thank you.
