Correct!     B.  #8 AWG. Section 230.23(b). The code states that #8 AWG Copper or #6 AWG Aluminum shall be the smallest wire used for overhead services, but there is one exception. #12 can be used for supplying limited loads such as polyphase power, controlled water heaters, and similar loads as long as the conductors are hard-drawn copper or equivalent.
